the beard is approximately 10.5 inches from my lower lip to the end of my beard as shown here
with the sideburn length of approximately 6 inches.

Are you going to grow out your head-hair, too?
Hmmmm. Probably not. That was for a different time and a different era. It’s getting to the point where I don’t like it. Hair on top has a much lower threshold of annoyance than the beard. It starts flopping in my eyes and the such.
Do you sleep w/ it in, or out of the covers? I’ve heard the cold air helps it to grow…
I sleep with it out. As I have a good amount of mass, I create a lot of heat and don’t use a whole lot in the way of covers during most of the year.
How long does it have to be to win?
taking a brief glance through the past winners, it’s not all about length. It appears that style and overall construction of the persona play a big part in the decision.
Most winners have costumes that go with their chosen facial hair. my early thoughts are to go as a civil war general or a bearded lady.
