Soros’ bid for Nationals gets political
ha ha ha. you have got to be kidding me. this is not only ridiculous but completely insane.
republicans in congress have suggested revoking mlb’s anti-trust exemption because george soros might become a minority shareholder in the washington nationals baseball team.
no really, where is the hidden camera? am i on tv?
4g - WikiPodLinux
I’ve installed linux on my ipod. Unfortunately, not all features are supported because they are still working on the 4 generation ipod linux software. Mainly, I can’t record on it which is really what I am looking to do. However, if you have a third generation (mine is fourth), they have a pretty solid linux package completed. You can find the main page here.
for whatever reason, this amuses and entertains me (via /.).
i love the internet archive
By popular request, the garden (and various other plants that interest me in the backyard.) Three weeks have passed since my previous post from the backyard.
Things have begun to take off a bit. Megan’s got a tomato plant right next to the back door for when emergencies hit and she’s not able to make it all the way back to the garden in time for that fix. Raspberries are always an excellent June/July treat. Go out in the backyard and eat berries for 5 minutes or so. The pugs enjoy eating the low berries and anything that falls on the ground. The garden now and the garden before.

We’ll now move onto the garden. Little zuchinnis, the spinach and the chard consuming the middle of the garden, and the potato plant in the back corner.

As always, I’m useless when it comes to the names of flowers that Megan gets but I enjoy the vibrant red and furriness in this flower - one pic w/o flash, the other with….

One more pretty pink flower and then the herb garden on the deck.

As always, I can take no credit for these wonderful plants and the things they make me do. They are in the sure hands of Megan. If you want to look at my handiwork in the backyard, just look at the grass. Enough said.
For whatever reason, i’ve decided to embark upon another journey of futility. When I got Jason’s record collection, I told myself I was going to try to listen to all of them. I don’t think I’ve listened to all the records I own and he’s got at least 6-7 times the amount of records I have.
To add to this sham, I’m going to try and catalog all of the records. there will be the date I listened to the record, the artist, album title, my personel rating, and the date it was recorded.
Aaaaaah, good times. Most of the records I will surely enjoy as Jason has good taste in music.. You can follow the process - here. For future reference, the link is listed under music as Jason’s Records.
The initial going was slow as I had the grand idea of listening to a record from each letter of the alphabet. Well, that got old after two times through the alphabet. From here on out, I’ll be doind them in groups of 5 from each letter of the alphabet. That will definitely speed up the process as I don’t have to dig through each letter one album at a time.
well well. i got home today and there were two packages inside my screen door. a quick glance at the label showed they were from the good people at mercedes benz.

I was informed by mr. rossi that mercedes presented high mileage awards to their owners. i had downloaded the form, taken a quick look, and and realized that at 320,000 miles - I had qualified for the 250,000 km (156,000 miles) and the 500,000 km (312,000 miles) award.
I filled out the form a few weeks ago and then was required to take it to the mercedes dealer to certify the mileage. i sent it away. a few web sites i had looked at said it might take 6-8 weeks. so i was midly suprised when they arrived in under three weeks.
they are nice metal medallions that i think you can attach to the grill of the car.

they also came with certificates that are placed in diploma holders.

boy do i feel special!
Sifaka

It was either on the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet. They were loking at a couple of varieties of lemurs on the island. The sifaka are great. They skip and prance along the ground to get from place to place.
If you scroll down, there are some videos and some sounds they make.
Jason is leaving/has left/will be leaving Seattle to move to Hawaii via a stop in monteray for a year or so. During his time with out the concrete roots in seattle, his glorious record collection needed a place to reside until permanent residence is obtained in the future. Due to Jason’s wandering spirit, this could be years or decades.
I’ve added some shelves to my existing closet and reaaranged the book cases in my room to make it work. I haven’t really estimated the amount of records I’ve acquired but it will provide some entertainment. Action shots of the closet and the book case.

I’m going to attempt to listen to all the records that I have acquired and catalog them to a certain degree. It’s a rather straight forward process. Jason’s collection should remain static without any additions in the near future. I’m listening to a record from each letter of the alphabet and writing them down as I go. This is the main reason the music sidebar is not changing that much, most of the stuff I’m listening to is on vinyl.
Eventually, I place a page link on the side with access to all the titles in Jason’s collection. Currently, I’m on my second time through the alphabet.
I just noticed this recently. When you pull this site up in IE, the sidebar gets listed below all of the posts. I’ll probably post a question on the Word Press support forums but if anyone knows what I need to tweak in my style sheet to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. (But then again, what are you doing still using IE, you should be using firefox.)

I love KEXP. As a part of my donation to the radio station (it is a public radio station), I get invited to various live performances during the day. I’ve been lucky enough to see Ween, Michael Franti, citizen cope, and Interpol. (There have been a couple of others but I can’t remember them off hand.) Well worth the investment. Today I got to see Aqualung. A brooding English band, although quite enjoyable. However, my yearly pledge is about up and I will be required to donate again in order to keep my membership in the coveted 500 club which I will gladly do in order to keep my access to these wonderful shows.
KEXP is a fantastic station. They are streaming live on the internet and provide an archive of the previous two weeks worth of shows. In addition to that, many of their past in studio performances can be found on their website. During the day they play a mix of indie/alt/ freaky stuff. Each night and during the weekends they have a variety of specialty shows. Their programming schedule is located here.
