I love KEXP. As a part of my donation to the radio station (it is a public radio station), I get invited to various live performances during the day. I’ve been lucky enough to see Ween, Michael Franti, citizen cope, and Interpol. (There have been a couple of others but I can’t remember them off hand.) Well worth the investment. Today I got to see Aqualung. A brooding English band, although quite enjoyable. However, my yearly pledge is about up and I will be required to donate again in order to keep my membership in the coveted 500 club which I will gladly do in order to keep my access to these wonderful shows.
KEXP is a fantastic station. They are streaming live on the internet and provide an archive of the previous two weeks worth of shows. In addition to that, many of their past in studio performances can be found on their website. During the day they play a mix of indie/alt/ freaky stuff. Each night and during the weekends they have a variety of specialty shows. Their programming schedule is located here.
