If you are interested, it is called flash filter plus.
I am all alone with the pugs this week. Megan and a few friends have taken a drive to California. With them went my digital camera. Alas I can’t take any random pictures and put them up to entertain myself, so I will have to describe and link to a few pictures of what you would see if I did have my camera.
I walked out into the garden last night and too my suprise the cardoon had sprouted little purple like flower things. I’d never seen it bloom before, so it was quite nice. The cardoon is some ancient ancestor of the artichoke and the leafy material on the side is supposedly edible. Most green leafy things that are usually described with the word bitter are generally not to my liking. I’ll have to pass on eating the leaves.
The sunflowers are doing quite well. The biggest one has a face about 12″ in diameter (not including the petals). Soon the seeds will be ready and the minions of birds and squirrels will attack and leave a bed of cracked shells all over the garden.
Megan’s tomatoes by the deck are started to turn red. She’ll be pleased by this development. The great gorging shall begin shortly.
Last but not least, the corn is progressing quite nicely. There looks to be about 15 or so ears of corn out there. Hopefully the sun will continue to shine and we will have a couple of bbqs with corn from the garden.
aaaaaahhhhh…too much free time and a love of bass. you too can own the death star. the questions are pretty funny. There is also a photodiary of the construction.
Look soon, the auction ends today. (via /.)
i like the sound of my voice? (a little quiet and it seems the compression also made things a little more strange)
edit: whee, now i can have talking and music in my posts.
i haven’t watched a lot of movies in the past. i don’t like seeing too many movies in the theatre. however, i do enjoy netflix. i get to pick out a lot of bizarre odd movies that i would never think to watch, see tv shows that i would never sit around and wait for during the normal course of programming.
that said, i always am trying to add new little toys to the website, mainly for my own personal enjoyment. this vehicle has really allowed me to keep track of things i normally wouldn’t (maybe not that well but a little better than before).
so, i found there was a little plugin for what’s in my netflix queue. if you scan down to the bottom of the sidebar - you can view the next 10 movies in the queue. take it with a grain a salt. megan watches about 80% (maybe more) of all the movies that stream through, so don’t get the idea that i am big into romantic comedies. although i can’t wait to see the song and dance numbers from this bollywood hit
It’s nice to have david lynch give you LA’s weather report each morning.
It has taken me a little time to post on this subject. Maybe it’s because of the repercussions it has had upon my outlook on life. Or it could be I’m a little slow. The alien explanation could probably also fit into this drama but will leave out the details on that one for now.
Thursday, June 9th, started out like any other Thursday. Woke up, got out of bed, drug a comb across my head. Little did I know how the events that would unfold would change my life forever.
I had vague images of what cassoulet would be. All I knew was it came in its own little dish, it had beans in it, and meat. A good summary. quick and to the point, unlike this rambling mess. I didn’t even know how to spell cassoulet when I first went looking for it on the internets - i think my first attempts involved a lot of k’s and z’s - kazzouleigh - probably not that bad but close. I obviously don’t know french very well but a quick search on google for the wonder ful dish and finnaly arrived at this and this.
We arrived at Chard’s early in the evening. The house had a wonderful smell to it. The gentle odors floating throughout the house. A cocktail was procured and the night began. there wasn’t a whole lot of preparation to be done. Dinner was on Thursday and Chard had started making the meal on Tuesday. Many hours of love were put into the dish. There were three stocks involved in the dish and these were prepared starting on Tuesday (lamb, chicken, and ?).
A quick rundown of the ingredients - white beans, lamb sausage, bacon, ham hocks, and duck confit. The duck confit was fabulous. What can you say about meat that is cooked in its own fat.
