halloween 2005 (Megan’s birthday)

I submit to you, evidence of an occasion that occured on a frightful eve the saturday that has just passed. There were attempts to frighten, startle, and maim. Not all the characters you see here are real. Many are just fragments of my imagination that I was able to capture in a terror induced haze. If you think enough devilish thoughts and click here, the whole realm of the
subconscious shall be open.

pug-o-ween

This post is about pugs. I love my pugs and I love everybody elses pugs. Now that we have that statement out of the way - Saturday afternoon was the most giddy excitement I’ve felt in a while. We took Tiberious and Delilah to Pug-o-ween. The event is set up in a gymnasium. There is a baby gate in front of the door. Pugs are everywhere. The truly great part about it is sitting on the floor petting a couple of pugs, then looking around, and realizing they have swarmed. Poof! Where there were two, there are now 10. Wheeeee. I couldn’t get enough. Here are a few highlights. Click here to get the full gallery. I’ve also found this link for Pugoween pictures from Saturday.

delilah and tiberious are in the last photo. i’ll post a better one with megan in my halloween post.

pumpkins

i love to carve pumpkins. somebody always comes through and has an entertaining evening of drink and pumpkin. We went over to lulu’s for the festivities. Being absent-minded, I forgot he camera so I had to take lame shots with the camera phone. I hope to make it back over tomorrow and get some better shots with my other camera.

I went with the standard spooky face. Sharp jagged lines, odd behaviors, typify my style. Megan has got the great pumpkin. The halo around the center is created by carving out a hole and stuffing it with an orange to create the spooky effect.

yurting

A last grasp at a sunny day in western washington. The sunshine bird flies away to be replaced by its not so happy cousin gloom. I really do enjoy the short drizzly days that the winter brings but grasping the last light of summer/fall is also enjoyable.

Megan and I took off to the yurt on a fine saturday morning. Not a care in the world, two pugs in the back of the mercedes. What did i have to think about? Fine living, that’s what it is. The yurt resides in a happy place located not to far from almost there and right next to hello.

There’s really either not a lot to say or way to much to say about the whole place. A peaceful creek runs through the property. Nice views of the stars at night. The leaves are turning and falling. The motorbikes are cutting through the crisp air with the boom boom music echoing in the background. But you take the good with the eh. I always seem to enjoy myself. I’ve taken a few other pictures you can enjoy. My favorite is the frog who stopped an allowed me to take many personal photos of him.

one last set. bright tree. dark tree.

google maps

IN the past, I’ve put up a few of the more interesting goolge map hacks that I’ve run across. Well, the NY Times has an article today.

And here is the link to the GoogleMapsMania which is trying to keep an up to date list of new applications that are sprouting up using Google Maps.

party party

I meant to write about the two party weekends a while ago, but alas, I was lazy and didn’t particularly care to write up some wonderful, glowing account of the weekends events. So, I am going to present the minimum facts. Browse the pictures and make up your own wild and crazy stories about the adventures Beef could have at each of the events.

1) maurice caldwell jr’s birthday party at the rendevouz. get up, get down.

2) wendy’s party on the dreaded eastside - i was close to a place they called factoria.

bad marketing

The National Review’s direct marketing campaign is a little lax. They sent me this sticker with their invitation to subscribe to their magazine.
